Banking and Thrifts

We represent a variety of commercial banks, investment banking firms, and other organizations and individuals with interests in the banking and thrift industries. We counsel and assist our clients in transactions involving formations of new financial institutions, mergers, acquisitions, branching and disposition of assets. Attorneys assist in the design and implementation of initial and secondary public and private offerings of stock and debt as well as representations involving regulatory compliance actions.

Our Firm has substantial experience in legal matters affecting the banking and financial services industries. We serve as general outside counsel to bank holding companies and represent a number of New York banks in a variety of regulatory, business, lending, environmental and bankruptcy matters. Our firm is a member of the New York State Bankers Association. We also serve as counsel to lenders from outside New York, including major money center banks.

The McNamee Law Firm provides opinions on New York law affecting commercial transactions and regional or national consumer lending programs. We also act as New York counsel for major national bank form suppliers, assisting in developing appropriate forms for commercial and consumer banking transactions. We also have experience in all phases of consumer, commercial and construction lending including documentation, workout and bankruptcy resolution. Additionally, our business lawyers provide advice to our clients in the defense and prevention of lender liability claims.
