Mr. Speich represents new, emerging and established businesses in the areas of business and tax planning, mergers and acquisitions, purchase and sale of businesses, raising capital via debt and equity financing, including private placements to raise venture capital, commercial real estate and lease transactions and the formation and operation of corporations, limited liability companies, limited partnerships and partnerships including professional corporations. He counsels various not-for-profit organizations on issues of formation, operation and tax-exempt status. Mr. Speich also represents clients in disputes with federal and state taxing authorities.

Mr. Speich joined the firm in 2002 and is a member of the firm’s Business and Tax Law Group. Mr. Speich received a LL.M. degree in Taxation from the New York University School of Law in 2008, a J.D. degree, cum laude, from the Albany Law School of Union University in 2002 and a B.A. degree from the University of Rochester in History and Political Science in 1999. He was an Associate Editor of the Albany Law Review and also inducted into the Justinian Society, Albany Law School’s academic honor society. Mr. Speich is a contributing author in New York Zoning Law and Practice and has published articles in the Albany Law Review and the Albany Law Journal of Science and Technology.

Mr. Speich is a member of the American, New York State, and Albany County Bar Associations. He is also admitted to practice before the United States Tax Court and the United States District Court for the Northern District of New York. Mr. Speich is a member of the Associate Board of Directors of the St. Peter’s Hospital Foundation and The Fort Orange Club.
