Mr. Kinum joined the firm in 1976 as a principal, served as its President from January, 1993 until February, 2002, and assumed the position as "Of Counsel" as of March 1, 2002. He received a J.D. degree from Albany Law School of Union University in 1958 and a B.A. degree from Tufts University in 1955. He was an instructor of constitutional, military and international law at the U.S. Military Academy at West Point, having served several years in The Office of The Judge Advocate General. He has served as chair of the Banking Law Committee and as an Executive Committee member and officer of the Business Law Section of the New York State Bar Association. He is a director and officer of the Albany County Bar Association, and is active in several other New York and American Bar Association Committees and Sections related to banking and business.

Mr. Kinum's practice is concentrated in commercial financial transactions. His banking and corporate clients regularly provide debt and equity financing in connection with real estate acquisitions, fixed and trading asset financing, asset-based lending, and import and export financing.

Mr. Kinum works regularly with state and federally sponsored lending programs. He is also involved in the practice of wills and estates.
