Mr. Kinum concentrates his practice in the areas of commercial lending and real estate, corporate law, as well as matters affecting the volunteer fire service. He represents bank and non-bank lenders in connection with their asset based, real estate, construction, interim and long-term secured lending. As a United States Small Business Administration Designated Closing Attorney, Mr. Kinum is involved with government guaranteed and government sponsored credit facilities, including those under the United States Small Business Administration's 7(a) and 504 loan programs. He is involved with transactions throughout New York State that are aimed at fostering economic development, creating or preserving job opportunities, stimulating growth, and expanding and modernizing businesses. He advises many SBA Preferred lenders in all areas of need, including SBA 7(a) documentation and closing, SBA 504 documentation and closing, SBA regulations and SOP interpretation and SBA servicing and liquidation support.
Prior to joining the firm, Mr. Kinum was Vice President and General Counsel of New York Business Development Corporation and its affiliates, Empire State Certified Development Corporation and Statewide Zone Capital Corporation of New York. He also previously served as Deputy Legal Counsel to the Governor of Connecticut and as General Counsel to the New York State Senate Higher Education Committee Chairman.
