Banking and Thrifts

With substantial experience in legal matters affecting the banking and financial services industries, McNamee is a member of the New York State Bankers Association and one of our attorneys is on its Lawyers Advisory Committee. Serving as general outside counsel to bank holding companies, the firm represents a number of regional and New York-based banks in a variety of regulatory, business, lending, environmental, trust and bankruptcy matters. We also serve as counsel to lenders from outside New York, including major money center banks.

We represent a variety of commercial banks, investment banking firms, and other organizations and individuals with interests in the banking and thrift industries. Our experience includes all phases of consumer, commercial, construction and debtor-in-possession lending, including documentation, workouts, collections, lien and mortgage foreclosure, and bankruptcy resolution. Additionally, members of our Corporate Law Practice Group and Environmental Practice Group provide advice to our clients in the defense and prevention of lender liability claims.

The firm provides litigation support to financial institutions including complex collections and loan workouts and restructurings. McNamee provides advice on avoiding bank fraud losses and aggressively prosecutes fraud claims when losses do occur. The McNamee firm handles litigation matters with particular understanding of the unique needs of banks, including the need to dedicate resources to move quickly in emergent circumstances, promptly report status and act to dismiss counterclaims as expeditiously as possible.

The firm also provides contract review and negotiation for banks with all types of financial service vendors, including software and computer support suppliers, web-based application suppliers and back-office operation processors.
